Christmas festivities, don’t overdo.

Thanksgiving is a thing of the past and now we move on to the Christmas festivities!Christmas

There are so many things to choose from, so many places to go, how do we keep our sanity. First remember that you cannot do everything that comes down the pike. Choose one thing a week if you can, I know it is hard to do. We really tried to keep it down to 2 things a week for the three weeks before Christmas and then try to stay closer to home for the final week of Christmas.

NRCM Polar Plunge Be bold in the cold with a plunge into the Atlantic and/or winter jaunt around the East End to support the Natural Resources Council of Maine’s work to reduce climate change pollution.

A 5K or ocean dip in winter in Maine to raise funds to combat global warming is fitting. Weather patterns are changing from one extreme to the next and our seas are rising. The effects of climate change on Maine’s environment are severe.

Energy efficiency, clean air, and renewable energy sources are a priority for the National Resource Council of Maine. Every cent you raise will be used to directly support this work and consequently help to reduce harmful global warming emissions.

Now those are just the activities that are not put together by homeschoolers. There are many more out there, check your local Chamber of Commerce for events in your area. There are many FB pages that list activities for homeschoolers as well, search #homeschoolchristmas and you will find some listings.
Many towns in Maine have Home Town Holiday weekends as well. Check local papers and make a list of possible activities to attend and then narrow the list down.
Christmas time can be so stressful but remember we are the ones that make it stressful.
Try to find some time to relax this season and enjoy your family, make it simple!
Merry Christmas,
